September Marks National Preparedness Month – Are You Prepared for a Disaster?

Help us get viral by sharing this post

Dubbed the “Summer of Extremes,” this year has produced 23 separate billion-dollar natural disasters during the first 8 months. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, these events include 18 severe storm events (tornado outbreaks, high wind, hailstorms), two flood events, one tropical cyclone, one wildfire event, and one winter storm or cold wave.

With September being National Preparedness Month, CTW Events is here to help you prepare, protect your health and safety, and support your community.

Why Disaster Preparedness Matters

Emergencies, natural disasters, and unexpected challenges can strike at any moment. Being prepared means having the knowledge, resources, and plans in place to protect yourself, your loved ones, and your community. While we can’t always predict what disasters will come our way, we can prepare for them.

When we prepare before a disaster strikes, we are better equipped to help others in need. Those without reliable access to water, health necessities, and shelter are hit the hardest during natural disasters. While prepping for incoming storms, we can also come together to protect and help our community by donating essential hygiene supplies to those without access to clean water and sanitation.

Your Partner in Community Preparedness: Soap Saves Lives Experience @ Home

This September, we encourage you to participate in our Soap Saves Lives Experience @ Home initiative. By assembling hygiene kits from the comfort of your own home, you can make a meaningful contribution to your local community’s disaster preparedness efforts.

How to Get Involved

  1. Order your Supply Box: Select the type of kit you’d like to create, such as hygiene kits, school supply kits, or comfort kits.

  2. Gather Supplies: Collect the necessary items based on our provided guidelines. You will receive detailed instructions in your confirmation email.

  3. Assemble Kits: Put together the kits with love and care.

  4. Donate Locally: Connect with local organizations, shelters, or disaster relief agencies to distribute kits to those in need. Your generosity will make a real difference in your community.
