Clean the World Founder & CEO, Shawn Seipler, recently visited Kelly Clarkson to share our mission with her and her millions of viewers. Shawn was joined on the show by Orlando’s WESH2 News anchor, Nancy Alvarez, a long-time supporter of Clean of the World. Shawn shared the story of how Clean the World started in his one-car garage in 2009 and grew it into the global health organization it is today, partnering with 8,100+ hotels worldwide to collect and recycle millions of pounds of discarded soap and bottled amenities as part of our fight against hygiene insecurity around the globe. Since 2009, Clean the World has distributed 75 million bars of our recycled soap as well as 5 million hygiene kits, while diverting 23 million pounds of waste from landfills!
Nancy’s colleague, news anchor Stewart Moore, joined the show live from our soap recycling operation center in Orlando, Florida, where Kelly’s viewers learned how we recycle an average of 10,000 pounds of used soap a day into new bars to be distributed, through our partners, to children and families in vulnerable communities affected by poverty, homelessness, and humanitarian or natural crises around the globe. Viewers also got to meet two of our wonderful volunteers, Alex and Daniel, who help box up our recycled soap for distribution. Our visit to the show was capped off by Kelly and show sponsor, NetSpend, donating $25,000 to Clean the World and our life-saving mission! We are so grateful for their support and donation!
You, too, can help!
It’s through donations such as the one made by Kelly and NetSpend that Clean the World can continue to lead the way in the global hygiene revolution, as we work every day to curb the millions of deaths caused by hygiene-related illnesses each year. Join Kelly in donating to Clean the World today!
